2004 IMPE at the CNY Day of Percussion

An Indoor Marching Percussion Ensemble borrows its instrumentation from outdoor groups such as marching bands and drum corps.  The indoor performance venue is usually a gym floor.  A large variety of mallet percussion instruments are used to provide the melody and a full compliment of battery percussion (snare drums, multi-tenors, bass drums, and cymbals) march and play behind them.  Performance locations include contests and sporting events in the Syracuse and Rochester areas.

The OCC Indoor Marching Percussion Ensemble is the defending New York State Percussion Circuit: College Division Champion!

The Onondaga Community College Indoor Marching Percussion Ensemble is a group of area all-stars.  It provides the Indoor Marching Percussion Ensemble experience to students whose high school or college does not offer such an ensemble.  Students 14 years of age and older with a background in percussion are invited to audition.

This year’s fee is $125.00 for current OCC Students and all others.  There is an audition fee for all prospective members of $25.00 due at the first rehearsal attended.  The remaining $100.00 will be billed by the college.  All checks should be made out to OCC.
