MATH SUPPORT SERVICES
Onondaga Community College
Syracuse, New York 13215

The Mathematics Department at Onondaga Community College  provides a multitude of support services for both current and prospective students.  Our goal is to assist students who need to review or learn arithmetic and algebra topics prior to enrolling in credit level courses. We prepare students for courses in mathematics and in their specific majors.  There are several avenues to gain these needed skills.   We have traditional on campus courses:  Prealgebra, Beginning Algebra, and Intermediate Algebra.   There are online versions of Beginning Algebra and Intermediate Algebra courses available.  Finally, students can refresh their skills independently.

The Math Diagnostic Center  has an independent self-study program which allows students to refresh their math skills.   This program is available on campus and online.  It includes a detailed analysis of your skills and an individualized prescription for success.  Guided self-study materials are provided and exams are given after each topic to check your progress.

This Website includes links to the diagnostic review materials.  Any OCC student who needs to review a specific topic in arithmetic (prealgebra), beginning, or intermediate algebra is welcome to download these materials.  Additionally, there are links to application packets related to several different majors (i.e.  Business, Economics, Science, or Nursing) and areas of interest.  Please note:  If you need more assistance than this site provides, call the Math Diagnostic Center at 498-2611 for an appointment.

The Math Lab has professional and student tutors available to assist all students with their math needs.  Additionally, students use the math lab to take makeup exams, view course related videos, and use the computers to complete class assignments.
